    FAQ
Will Gloss+ change my hair color?
If you use the darker Gloss+ colors on lighter hair, it will change your hair color. Generally Gloss+ won’t change your hair color as much as it will add richness and dimension. The great thing about Gloss+ is that it’s not a permanent, all-over hair color. Rather, it’s intended to give a boost of color, hydration and shine to your current hue!
    When should I use Gloss+?
Gloss+ serves as a great color boost any time of the year! Whether you’re looking to add some luster to your hair during the winter months, experiment with a shift in color, or just deep condition and add shine before a big event, Gloss+ has got you covered. We recommend using Gloss+ weekly to maintain a healthy shine.
Will Gloss+ stain my hands and how do I remove it?
The darker Gloss+ shades can stain your hands if you don't wash it off right away with soap and water. After you apply Gloss+ to hair, wash your hands thoroughly. Gloves are always a great option if you want to play it safe!
    Will Gloss+ stain my shower?
Gloss+ shouldn’t stain your shower. We recommend using Gloss+ in the shower, not rinsing in the sink.
How much Gloss+ product should I use?
Use enough Gloss+ to thoroughly saturate your hair, just as you would a conditioner!
How long does the semi-permanent color last?
While everyone’s hair is different, Gloss+ typically lasts up to 4 weeks. Naturally, vigorous and frequent washing can fade color and luster faster, so be sure to use products like our ACV Hair Rinse to avoid oil and color stripping.
    Will Gloss+ cover my grays?
Gloss+ is great at giving hair a boost of color and shine, but it’s not formulated to permanently cover gray, whether all-over or just the roots. Our Root Touch Up Kits are great to instantly cover gray roots.
What's the difference between Gloss+ and getting a gloss treatment at a professional salon?
While salon professional glosses are oxidative and require mixing, dpHUE's Gloss+ is a non-oxidative hair color that requires no mixing.
How do I know which shade is best for my current hair color?

We recommend using the lightest Gloss+ based on your lightest hair strand. Gloss+ is not meant for major color changes and is a temporary tone-on tone color boost.

Browns: Dark Brown, Medium Brown, Light Brown are warm tone natural finish

Cool Medium Brown: is a cool toned shade. If you are looking to add cooler tones or minimize any warmth to your medium brown hair, this will be a good fit for you.

Blondes: Dark Blonde, Medium Blonde, Light Blonde have a warm undertone.

Reds: Auburn, Copper, and Strawberry will enhance red and copper tones already in hair.

Black: will be a very dark brown/natural black finish.

Sheer: is universal and can be used on all hair colors, including gray to help infuse moisture.

Gloss+ shades can be combined at a 1:1 ratio to help achieve your desired result. You'll want to do a strand test first, before applying all over.

*Gloss+ is not formulated to permanently cover gray.

    * Highlights or balayage: select a shade that closely matches the lightest shade in their hair.  Use our Gloss+ Shade Finder tool or reach out to our dpHUE Customer Support team via email, live chat or text!

“I absolutely love Gloss+! This gives hair a major boost in vibrancy and a ton of shine! It is honestly the easiest way to intensify your color, while also infusing your strands with extra hydration! And did I mention the SHINE!?”
