How to use

Shake bottle well. After shampooing, squeeze out excess water and use tip applicator to apply from mid-lengths to ends until fully saturated. Massage through hair, bringing up to the roots, for even coverage. Leave on for 2-3 minutes. Rinse thoroughly & style as usual. Use as often as desired for a shine and color boost.

The end result can depend on your hair’s porosity & fragility, and we recommend a strand test before applying allover to ensure you’re achieving your desired HUE

What's the difference between Gloss+ and Glossy Glaze?
Glossy Glaze is a temporary sheer color that lasts up to 3 shampoos before washing out, while Gloss+ is semi-permanent color that lasts for up to 8 shampoos. In temporary hair color, the pigment molecule is too large to penetrate the cuticle layer, so it only makes a physical change on the surface of the hair, rather than a chemical. The Glossy Glaze pigment subtly shifts your hair hue without causing any change to the quality of your hair — zero commitment and zero damage! Think of Glossy Glaze like a lipgloss for its subtle tint and shine and Gloss+ like a lipstick in terms of longevity and color payoff.

What is lamellar technology?
Glossy Glaze uses lamellar technology, which deeply moisturizes to restore softness and shine in just one application. It penetrates the hair cuticle to fill in damage within the hair shaft.

How do I find my shade?

We recommend choosing the lightest Glossy Glaze shade based on your lightest hair strand. 

Keep in mind Glossy Glaze is a subtle 2-minute moisturizing sheer pigment that lasts up to 3 washes. Think more toner than color! 

Glossy Glaze in Dark Brown is a neutral tone shade for Dark Brown hair.   

Glossy Glaze in Light to Medium Brown is a cool tone shade and will have a green tint to help neutralize any warmth in light to medium brown hair.  

Glossy Glaze in Golden Blonde is warm golden shade and should be used if you desire warmer tones.

Will Glossy Glaze work on my natural hair color?
Yes! Glossy Glaze is a great way to infuse incredible shine and add a hint of subtle color and vibrancy to your natural hue without damaging the hair.

Does it need developer?
No, because Glossy Glaze is a temporary color, it doesn't require using developer. Developers are used on demi-permanent, and permanent hair color to act as a delivery system to penetrate the cuticle layer and provide longer lasting color. Because Glossy Glaze is a temporary color, the pigment molecules do not penetrate into the hair shaft and only affect the surface of the hair, lasting for a shorter duration.

Do I need conditioner after using Glossy Glaze?
While Glossy Glaze is conditioning, if your hair is extra dry and in need of an extra boost of hydration, try adding a hydrating conditioner like Color Fresh Conditioner after rinsing out your Glossy Glaze application.

When should I use Glossy Glaze?
Because of its lightweight and non-damaging formula, Glossy Glaze can be used year-round and whenever your hair needs a shine or subtle color boost.

Will Glossy Glaze stain my hands?
Some dark shades of Glossy Glaze may leave behind a slight stain on your hands. Be sure to rinse thoroughly after applying and you can always wear gloves if you want to play it safe!

Why does the Light to Medium brown look green?
Our Glossy Glaze Light to Medium Brown has a cool undertone and is meant to be used on brown hair to refresh the allover tone. The greenish tint is normal and helps to cancel out any red tones within the hair which shouldn’t affect the outcome of your color refresh with Glossy Glaze at all.

Does Glossy Glaze cover grays?
While Glossy Glaze creates covetable shine and a temporary boost of dimensional color, it's not formulated to permanently cover grays. Our Root Touch-Up Kit is an excellent choice for seamlessly blending and covering any gray roots and regrowth.
